We started this year as the ones who got a lucky break. Freshly accepted into Y Combinator, we had a lot of work to do. Camped in our Sunnyvale apartment, we hit the ground running 🏃🏾.
We welcomed our first stable customers and really kicked out of beta. We also got a first taste of fraud, and a chance to test our systems (We call it DSS) 💪🏾.
After weeks of presentation, the day finally came. This was Shola, Paystack CEO, speaking at Y Combinator's demo day 😮.
We were fundraising all through April, and closed our round in May. Immediately this was done, we headed back home to continue building. ✈️
Many many road trips and agents later, we found a place to settle. Our office in Ikeja is even close to the house of a famous Nigerian founder. 🤐
New family 🍻! We added four members to our team to become nine. We hired in engineering, business and customer support roles.
We couldn't really remember any stand out things that happened this month. Some months are just easy going, you know. 😫
Our first company retreat held in Ghana. A Paystack retreat is one week, living together, writing code and eating food 😂. Also, we added a new team member to business.
Everybody had birthdays, but one was special. Our CTO, Ezra, turned 30 this year! Still looks 24 though 😶.
Picture taken at 12:00am on his birthday.
We closed the year with a complete brand overhaul. We updated our look, website, and communication. We also finally announced our raise.
It's been a great year with wonderful customers and people cheering us on. We look forward to pushing more and sharing more next year. ✊🏾
